Little Sebring is now bigtime. Factory teams appear and 1956 is won by the immortal Juan Fangio & Eugenio Castellotti in one of 3 factory Ferraris. Porsche sends 3 cars, Maserati two but each has several independents driving their cars. Because of the 1955 LeMans disaster the AAA decided to withdraw from all competitions. Alec Ulman then created the Automobile Racing Club of Florida (ARCF) to sanction the race and Sebring was once again an FIA World Championship event. The D Jags are quicker but the Ferrari’s are more durable and finish 1-2.
