An avid crew member sleeps alongside the now DNS Cortina When the car came down after flight over the curb it ripped the oil pan and the loss of oil spun a bearing.
The never say die crew manhandles the Cortina to put on the trailer and take into town to repair the suspension. They don’t know about the engine damage yet.

Bob Tullius’s Dodge Dart. Tullius co drove with Tony Adamowicz to 2d place. The car would go on to be the very first over 2 liter TransAm champ.
Dick Thompson forsake his usual Corvette for the 4 hour sedan race and drove the #1 Ford Mustang. Thompson was the last classified car in 26th but 4th in class..
The #66 Austin-Mini of John Finger & John Willes finished 23rd. The #58 Mini-Cooper faired better with the lovely Smokey Drolet co driving with J.P. Maranelli to 15th.
In the customary Scarlet and Gold livery, the #44 Alan Mann Ford Cortina. John Whitmore lost the clutch on this car early in the 4 hours.
Paul Richards took this Alfa 1600 GTA to 4th place. Another Alfa driven by F1 star Jochen Rindt would win.
Red and blue stripes adorn the #4 Mustang of A J Foyt. The head gasket blew while Foyt was in contention.
Charlie Rainville and Bruce Jennings drove this Plymouth Barracuda to 7th in the 4 hour.
What is it? A Honda 600 for Al Rogers and Warren Drescher. It finished 21st. Some happy fans pose with the little Honda
After Craige’s car was damaged he hung with his friends Sam Perry and Ed Diehl (standing) and their SAAB 96.
Sam Perry smiles at the camera as he either is ready to go out, or just came in. Regardless it looks as if things are going well.
At the end of 4 hours, the #74 SAAB of Sam Perry and Ed Diehl get the checkered flag in 17th,
